Even Newborns want to get into a Mazda

In the movies, expecting couples race to the hospital as a wacky musical score plays and the leading lady over-exaggerates her breathing. At the last minute, after exchanging some zany dialog, the celluloid couple arrives to the emergency room. Unfortunately, life is no movie, and sometimes you don’t make it…so what happens next? If you’re Dennis Weaver you lay your partner in the backseat of the Mazda 323 and tell her to push.

Shortly before 10 am on an early February morning, Little Rhya was born in her parent’s Mazda on A90 Fraserburgh-Aberdeen Road in Northern Scotland.

Mother Sarah Cordiner didn’t expect to have such little time between her water breaking and the birth of her child - but was surprised how well both she and Dennis handled the situation. Delivery was assisted via cellphone by the ambulance crew, which showed up 5 minutes after Rhya’s birth. She came in a bit premature (4-weeks early) at 5 lbs 6oz - but is at home with her 2-year-old sister and parents after a 5 day hospital stay. Maybe, when she’s old enough to drive, Rhya will think about purchasing a Protege5.

Seriously, would you rather be born in an ambulance or a Mazda?
