Mazda’s Paint System is 57% More Gooder For Environment
Mazda already makes some of the most fuel efficient and low-exhaust spewing automobiles on the road today. But there are plenty of other ways for a car company to cut down on dangerous chemicals being released into the air. It’s that train of thought leading companies like Mazda to use a new paint system. This advanced painting procedure cuts down on VOC emissions a whopping 57 percent!

Mazda is calling this new system “Aqua-tech painting” – which further reduces VOC emissions compared to the typically used Three Layer Wet Paint system. Water-based paints have a lower VOC content, so they generate fewer emissions. This process can be more carbon-intensive since evaporating the water and drying paint requires much energy. A better paint shop air-conditioning system and evaporation system to remove water from the paint will also be enacted.
